Christmas always sneaks up on me no matter how much I try to plan ahead. This year I am determined to get all my shopping done early so there is no stress to take away from the joy of the season. To stay organized, I use these holiday event and gift planning sheets. I separate each Christmas (or holiday that you celebrate) event and make detailed notes about what I need to shop for and bring using these printables. I hope you find this Christmas gift organizer sheet as useful as I do.

Want to be the real winner of the upcoming holiday season? Give experience gifts to the kids (and adults!) on your shopping list instead of toys. Don’t get me wrong toys are great but typically families already have WAY TOO MANY. Instead, give a gift that makes great memories without cluttering up the house.

I just made a pocket advent calendar for my family to use every December and I can’t wait to begin this tradition. In this post, I’ve brainstormed a number of advent calendar fillers to put in the pockets. In the 24 days leading up to Christmas, children will look forward to discovering what is in each day’s pocket. I’ve included fun activities, yummy treats, and little presents. Many of these advent calendar fillers also make great stocking stuffers!

Fall is growing on me more and more as I get older. The kids are back in school with routines, activities, and friends. The weather is gorgeous. Plus, the family fun activities in autumn are plentiful. I recommend creating a fall bucket list to ensure you don’t miss out on anything that makes the season enjoyable for you.
Below I have a blank fall bucket list printable (totally free) and a copy of the bucket list my family made this year for autumn if you would like a starting point.

I recently was able to tag along on my husband’s work conference trip to New Orleans. I hadn’t been to New Orleans since I was a little girl and the only parts of that trip I remember are the beignets and feeding alligators on a swamp tour. Going back to NOLA as an adult was great and I would go back again in a heartbeat.
Most of the trip I was by myself since Alex was at his conference so I tried to keep myself entertained without spending a ton of money. Mission accomplished! Here are some of my recommendations for things to do in New Orleans for very little money;
