Convenient Virtual Doctor Visits at Home

Though all opinions are my own, this blog post is sponsored by SSM Health Virtual Visits.

After having a baby six weeks early this fall, my family has chosen to strictly quarantine at home to keep our preemie as healthy as possible. Fortunately, there are incredible virtual services now to make our lives easier. One of those services I can’t say enough great things about is SSM Health virtual visits.

No longer do we have to go into a clinic or urgent care to see a doctor for common issues such as ear infections, colds, or urinary tract infections. Now I can just log in and start a virtual visit from the comfort of my home. Often within an hour, I will receive a treatment plan plus any prescriptions will be sent to the pharmacy of my choice.

Do you know the time and energy (not to mention the stress!) these virtual visits save me? Trying to get three kids under the age of four wrestled into car seats and across town in time for an in-person appointment is a lot to manage. With virtual visits, I can just open up my laptop or use my phone to fill out the questionnaire while my kids continue to play.

Here are the answers to some questions you may have about SSM Health virtual visits but make sure to go to the website for even more information (it’s very user-friendly);

Who:

Anyone!! Insurance is not required.

What:

Virtual visits are best for acute illnesses. Issues such as ear infections, urinary tract infections, lice, colds, etc are perfect to have looked at through a virtual visit especially since you can upload photos!

Where:

Anywhere! You can do a virtual visit at your home, in the car, on vacation (remember those?), etc using your computer or mobile device.

Go to SSM Health virtual visits and start filling out the questionnaires (it takes about 5-15minutes). The process looks like this.

When:

You can start a virtual visit at any time day or night, no appointment needed. Can you imagine having a doctor’s appointment with no waiting – how great is that!

If completing the questions after hours, you’ll be notified of the results the next morning during office hours.

Why:

Fast, Convenient, Affordable, and Safe

How Much:

The cost is ONLY $25!! That’s less than a typical co-pay when going to an urgent care clinic. You can pay by credit card or with an HSA card.

If your condition can not be treated by a virtual visit you will not be charged.

Who wants to take sick kids out in the cold? Not me!

After such a crazy year it is so nice to be able to get medical services from the safety of your own home. Go check out these awesome virtual visits todayclick here!

    • Agreed! Plus siblings aren't allowed to come to in-person doctor visits at this time so scheduling can be a nightmare. Being able to have a virtual visit relieves a lot of stress.

  • Ohhh I love the virtual visit option! It’s so good to not have to take kids or myself into the germ infested clinic! Also- finding child care do so so is a pain!!!

    • Yes, I feel bad that my husband has to take off of work every time one of the kids or I have to go in for an appointment. Virtual visits cause no scheduling issues!
