This board book featuring everyone’s favorite mouse is very simple. The story helps kids learn colors by spotting the different colored eggs on each page.
Another short board book featuring a popular character. Easter morning brings candy, finding Easter eggs, and a bird hatching from an egg.
George goes to a park for a community Easter gathering. There, they fly kites and decorate eggs but as always there are some problems when the curious monkey is involved. A bunny escapes and there are issues during the egg hunt. I like how the book goes over mixing colors.
This is a lift-the-flap book. Under each flap are spring items such as birds and Easter eggs. The reader also learns what all the different construction vehicles do.
I love the illustrations and my kids request this book a bunch. But it does bug me that the words don’t follow the exact phrasing sequence of “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”. This book also has flaps to lift as bunnies search for eggs.
Short little poems about spring, bunnies, colored eggs, and jelly beans are featured in this book. It’s cute and simple. Plus, I like how it includes the history of the egg roll at the White House.
A duck is searching for a golden egg. It asks different animals and in rhymes, shows different colored eggs behind flaps. The eggs are decorated beautifully. The duck doesn’t find a solid gold egg but one of many colors. The eggs are all chocolate on the inside.
Betty is a little sister who wants to grow up to be the Easter bunny. At an egg hunt, she realizes that the reason she always does so well is because her older siblings secretly help her. Betty wants to find the eggs herself this year because the win will mean more if she does but Betty only finds a few. Next year she is determined to find even more.
This book does follow the rhythm and rhyme of “The Night Before Christmas”. There are visions of jelly beans, baskets are set out, and a rabbit appears. The Easter bunny leaves candy and hides eggs around the house. We are always fans of the books in this series.
A board book for the youngest readers. The cutout egg shape on each page makes it easy for little hands to grab and turn the page. The golden egg is missing. Is it in the pond? Is it inside the chocolate bunny?
Nancy is supposed to be taking care of the class bunny and wants to play with it but forgets to latch the cage. Instead of getting to enjoy an easter egg hunt with her family and friends, she has to search for the bunny. The bunny is eventually found. Nancy’s friends and family take a few eggs from their own baskets to let Nancy have some.
A bunny finds an egg and tries to guess what is inside it. The bunny waits a long time and eventually falls asleep. The egg cracks open and a duckling comes out. The duck and bunny become friends.
Each year the bunny who decorates the winning egg gets to help the Easter Bunny hide eggs. But for Hoppi’s first year, he doesn’t know how he should decorate his egg. Hoppi goes to see all of his friends to get ideas and everyone generously gives him a few supplies. But then he comes upon a robin’s egg that fell from a nest. He knows it’s important to keep it warm and he doesn’t get the chance to decorate his egg. Hoppi is rewarded for his selflessness.
What a gorgeous book! A girl picks chicken eggs up from a farm and takes them home. Then the eggs get hard-boiled and dyed. In the morning the girl participates in an egg hunt with friends finding chocolate eggs and plastic eggs filled with fun items. The cute story rhymes and will become a holiday staple in our house.
Another for your youngest readers. A young bunny and his friends plan out Easter Day. Then they hide all the Easter eggs around town as well as jelly beans and chocolates. It’s very short for short attention spans.
The book is all of the lyrics to the song combined with adorable illustrations.
