For our daughter’s seventh birthday, she requested a LEGO-themed party. She’s always enjoyed playing with building blocks and was asking for several LEGO sets as gifts. A LEGO birthday party is an easy theme that’s perfect for many ages to enjoy.

I am a frugal person. I always design my invitations on Canva and then print them from home on photo paper to mail in envelopes. If I am printing an invitation to hand out to an entire class at school then I just print on regular paper.

My child decided to not have a class party this year and chose a trip instead. To read more about our birthday tradition and for gift ideas CLICK HERE.

For decorations, we stuck to this one LEGO decor package which includes a birthday banner, a disposable tablecloth, plates, cups, and napkins. From Dollar Tree, I picked up candles and a few balloons with emoji faces perfect for a LEGO-themed party.

I’ve learned over the years that it is stressful for me to make all the food for parties so we always pick up pizza, subs, or pasta. The cakes I make myself because I enjoy that task.

I made two different flavored layer cakes. One I frosted blue and the other red. To make them look like LEGO building blocks I placed double stuffed OREOS on top and frosted over them.

My only regret is that I wish I had made the frosting look smoother but as a mom of four young kids, I ran out of time and did the best I could.

Although my daughter chose not to have a class party this year she did want to bring something to celebrate her birthday. Sweet treats are discouraged on birthdays so my child brought these animal building block sets to give out at school. We printed out this free printable to attach to each package.

Then at her family party, we gave out a tray (Dollar Tree), a small baseplate (Dollar Tree), building blocks, and figures (Dollar Tree). In addition, each child received their own small LEGO set depending on their age/interests. For the very young kids, DUPLO sets were substituted.

My daughter was happy with her LEGO birthday party. For more birthday party inspiration, check out the following posts;
