I recently was able to tag along on my husband’s work conference trip to New Orleans. I hadn’t been to New Orleans since I was a little girl and the only parts of that trip I remember are the beignets and feeding alligators on a swamp tour. Going back to NOLA as an adult was great and I would go back again in a heartbeat.
Most of the trip I was by myself since Alex was at his conference so I tried to keep myself entertained without spending a ton of money. Mission accomplished! Here are some of my recommendations for things to do in New Orleans for very little money;
Once you become a parent you accrue a lot of stuff, a LOT of stuff. Packing to go on a trip no longer means throwing a toothbrush and some clothes in a bag for a spontaneous weekend getaway. You can’t do spontaneous with toddlers, not without a travel packing checklist to ensure you don’t forget to bring any essential items. So whether it is a day trip or a two-week vacation, use this helpful guide and checklist to make sure you have everything your toddler will need.
After I made a vacation packing checklist for kids a number of people asked if I had a checklist for adults. Now I do! The checklist is pretty all-encompassing. What I recommend is to print out a checklist every time you are packing for a trip and then cross out any items you won’t need to pack.
