
I hope you feel very accomplished after this week’s declutter category because we are cleaning out the refrigerator and freezer. Get rid of any old food and condiments. Since I participated in this Challenge last year I barely had to get rid of anything this year which is awesome! Each year you declutter will get faster and easier.

Some women (and men!) are bag people. They have many different bags for different occasions. Some people are really into designer bags. Not me. I have a gray diaper backpack I use every day and a small crossbody purse I use when I am rarely out somewhere without my kids. Please note, the purse DOES fit my Kindle or I would have returned it immediately (#priorities). I like to start each year decluttering bags because, selfishly, it is an easy category for me and I think the beginning of a new year is a great time to clean out your purses.

My friend and I were chatting today about how fun the holidays are only to then have a huge letdown in January with nothing to look forward to. My solution – subscription boxes! Subscription boxes make perfect Christmas gifts (or gifts at any time of the year). You can rest assured no one is returning this gift!

After I made a vacation packing checklist for kids a number of people asked if I had a checklist for adults. Now I do! The checklist is pretty all-encompassing. What I recommend is to print out a checklist every time you are packing for a trip and then cross out any items you won’t need to pack. Below, I have a lot of packing tips and describe how I go about packing for a vacation. It’s that time of year when I like to take stock of what my kids will need, in terms of clothing, for the upcoming fall and winter seasons. What winter boot sizes will we need this year? Does my child have enough pants that fit? By taking an inventory of their fall and winter clothes now I can take advantage of upcoming sales plus give practical gift ideas for birthdays and holidays to fill the gaps in their wardrobes. By using this Fall/Winter Clothing Checklist I also don’t run the risk of overbuying for my children. Here is my process;
