Delicious ice cream with chunks of cherries and chocolate.
(Day Before!!) Place the freezer bowl of your ice cream maker in the freezer.
In a medium bowl, whisk to combine milk and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Stir in heavy cream and almond extract. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 - 2 hours.
Take out freezer bowl and assemble your ice cream maker. Turn on your ice cream maker. Pour milk mixture into frozen freezer bowl and let mix until thickened (about 15 min). Add the cherries and chocolate chunks and let mix for another 5 min.
If you like the consistency of the ice cream, enjoy! Otherwise, I usually distribute the ice cream into three of my freezer containers and let it harden for at least two hours.
Optional - Sometimes when scooping the ice cream into the freezer storage containers I add a few layers of Magic Shell to give the ice cream even more chocolatey goodness.
