Rainbow Birthday Party

four pictures showing rainbow details from the birthday party

My daughter’s birthday is in March which is the perfect time to throw a rainbow birthday party since St. Patrick’s Day makes all things rainbow even easier to find than normal. We incorporated the rainbow theme into the party decorations, food, dessert, and favor bags. See below for inspiration and links.

Decor

Over the years of throwing many children’s birthday parties, I’ve learned to keep things simple. The motto “less is more” is always a good one to stand by.

For this rainbow birthday party, we created a fun rainbow backdrop for opening gifts. Plus, we got a rainbow-themed decor package for a banner, tablecloth, and place settings.

Food

We incorporated the rainbow theme with the desserts as well as a rainbow fruit platter (very simple to make).

It was THIS RECIPE that I got the inspiration for the cupcakes but I just used a confetti box mix instead of the rainbow batter.

Favors

At my daughter’s party with her friends, we put out all the favor bags in rainbow order. I used a piece of matching tissue paper in each bag.

For favors we gave; Skittles, Starbursts, sunglasses, slinkies, and Ring Pops.
