This week I’ve been dealing with typical toddler behaviors of spitting, throwing toys, and screeching. The last thing I need are loud, obnoxious toys adding to the noise pollution in my household – I have very sensitive hearing. I was inspired to create a list of wonderful, quiet toys and activities for toddlers to enjoy. These quiet gifts for toddlers make very happy kids and parents.
Art has many benefits including fostering creativity and improving fine motor skills. Even better – no noise required!
Basically, these dot pens are the same thing that people use to play bingo but are washable – a very essential component when gifting toddlers art supplies.
The best feature of this coloring tablecloth is that it is reusable!! You can wash it over and over again. A perfect way to keep kids entertained during holiday feasts is to put this on the kids’ table. Just make sure to use washable markers or crayons. It comes in many sizes and themes.
My daughter has recently received two Mr. Potato Heads and these actually keep her entertained for significant amounts of time. Yes, I step on all the pieces scattered around my house but at least it’s quiet.
My daughter, like many toddlers, loves taking things apart and putting them back together. Playing quietly with toy tools is a perfect way to help occupy her time. Plus, magnetic tiles are all the rage with kids – and for good reason! Hours are spent at our house creatively assembling these cool tiles.
We have a real baby at home but our toddler still prefers playing with her baby doll. She loves to pretend to feed the baby, burp the baby, and change her diaper. Accessories for the doll make great gifts as well. Remember, boys love to play with baby dolls too!
Such a simple idea yet has provided a lot of relief for busy moms and dads. Magnetic letters will be fun for the kids to play with for years to come.
Kids enjoy building things. Bricks and legos improve hand-eye coordination and the creativity your child can have with them is endless.
You may have forgotten how much fun Play-Doh can be. You should see all the colors and accessories there are for Play-Doh now compared to when you were a kid.
Water can provide tons of quiet playtime for toddlers (just make sure they are always supervised!). Whether with a water table, in the bath, or a bin filled with water, kids will love to play in it.
Kids are fascinated by all the different tools at the doctor’s office, especially the blood pressure cuff. Also, playing with a doctor’s kit can help make going to an appointment less scary.
These water activity pads are awesome! They come with refillable water pens and board books for mess-free (and quiet) play.
Sports are great ways to get kids away from screens and noisy electronics. Start your toddler out with their own t-ball, golf clubs, etc.
My child is just starting to get into puzzles and she gets so excited when a piece fits correctly. Puzzles are a nice, quiet activity that can keep your toddler busy for a long time.
What kids doesn’t love stickers?
