Introducing Baby Autumn!

Guilty Pleasure Movies

While on “maternity leave” (aka I’m a stay-at-home mom and my husband has 3 weeks off) I needed to watch some guilty pleasure movies.  Guilty pleasure movies are movies that are embarrassing for you to admit how much you like them.  But they serve a purpose and if they bring you joy who cares!  First of all, these movies don’t require any thinking or remembering.  The films are not complicated so you can drift off to sleep, wake up, and still not really have missed anything. Also, guilty pleasure movies have happy endings and will leave you feeling good after watching them. Here is a list of a few of my guilty pleasure movies;

Baby Registry: Toys and Books

One of the more fun baby registry categories to shop for is, of course, toys and books.  Many baby shower invitations now request that guests “please bring a book instead of a card” – a new tradition I can totally get behind. Below are the baby toys and books that my children loved the most during their first year of life.

October Book Reads

Four book reviews and recommendations for the month of October. From a story about a teen mom forced to give up her baby to a love story based in Milwaukee this month's reads featured women. #bookrecommendations #booklover

For the month of October I seemed to be in a very female-driven book mode.  Ranging from a very serious (and true!) topic of how the Catholic Church turned orphanages into mental institutions for more money to Mindy Kaling’s book with funny anecdotes about the start of her career there is a variety to choose from.  I hope at least one of these books catches your interest.

Becoming a Mom of Two Under Two: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

With a baby on the way and a toddler just about to turn 18 months I knew I needed advice from other parents with experience raising two kids under the age of two.  I truly appreciate the amount of feedback I’ve gotten from friends, family, and other mom bloggers on this topic.  It was great that everyone kept it real and didn’t try to sugarcoat the realities of adding a new child into our family.
