We are in back-to-school mode in our house and our schedule seems to be jammed packed. In reality, it’s just a normal month but after social distancing for so long a full calendar seems a bit overwhelming. I haven’t been able to read as much as I would like but below are four new book reviews. I hope you find something that catches your interest.

Tips for How to Homeschool Preschool

I never planned on homeschooling my children for any grade level. I happily signed my oldest up for preschool and she attended three days in March of 2020 before you know what occurred and everything shut down. Fast forward to August of 2021 and I have an entire year of homeschool preschool under my belt as I prepare to homeschool preschool our second daughter. Read below to find out why I am still homeschooling, the curriculum I recommend, and a list of easy homeschool supplies.

Whenever I get anxious I turn to books. Now that August has arrived I’m starting to have a little anxiety about September and what exactly this fall and winter are going to look like. I love cherries and summer is the time when we definitely eat the most in our household. Unfortunately, I am not the biggest fan of cherry pie (or any berry pie for that matter). But, I do love crisps! For my mother’s birthday, I made this crisp and liked it so much I knew I had to write the recipe down so I could recreate it again. Cherry Berry Crisp has cherries, strawberries, and blueberries topped with a brown sugar/oatmeal crumble. My favorite way to serve this crisp is warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This past year my daughters (ages four and two) have started to love chapter books being read to them. Before bed each night my kids each get to pick out two books to read and inevitably one of the girls always picks a chapter book. Depending on the length of the chapters we read one or two chapters a night and then we put a bookmark in to hold our place.
