Mom vs Dad Baby Shower Game

If you are in need of a super simple game to play at a baby shower this is the one for you! With minimal prep and a lot of flexibility, the Mom vs Dad baby shower game asks questions to each parent-to-be simultaneously. All shower guests are able to participate too! Expect a lot of laughter during this easy and fun baby shower game.

The Mom vs Dad baby shower game allows all guests at the party to participate and since there is no winner the game can be played at any time during the party. It can also be ended at any point by just not asking any more questions.

I personally think this game is the perfect end to a baby shower because then the dad-to-be can arrive at the party to play this final game, thank the guests, and start loading all the gifts into the car.

You can certainly play this game even if the dad does not come to the party at all. In this case, the mom will just give her answers. It doesn’t matter because there is no winner in Mom vs Dad. The game usually leads to a lot of laughter and some fun disagreements among guests.

Questions can be thought of on the fly but I made a list of 20 to help get you started.

Game Directions:

  • Each guest should have one “Dad” prop and one “Mom” prop. Prop examples: blue vs pink onesies, mustache vs red lips, pink pacifier vs blue bottle, etc. Have some fun with the props and really personalize them. Does the dad have glasses? Does the mom always wear flip-flops? Those can be the props instead of onesies. Note – obviously, this game can be easily modified for same-sex couples.
  • The mom-to-be and dad-to-be (if he is at the party) should be in front, visible to all guests. The couple can be back-to-back if you think it would be more fun for them to not be able to see each other’s answers.
  • When the host asks a question everyone should raise the prop with the answer they believe to be true.  For example, if the question asks who will change more diapers and you think the mom-to-be will then hold up the “mom” prop. Both props can even be held up if a guest thinks the parents will equally complete the task.

There is no winner because there aren’t any correct or incorrect answers. This is just a casual game to get everyone in the shower involved and participating in some fun predictions. That’s it!

Mom vs Dad Game Questions:

Hi! Do you have a link where I can buy the questions that are printed on a card stock? Or where do you recommend getting a customized one made?

I don’t currently have a printable version of the questions but I am adding that to my to-do list! If you need the questions soon, Etsy is probably the best place to get a customized version made.
