Mother’s Day is right around the corner and the moms in our lives deserve great gifts. Below are some great tips and MANY gift ideas for moms that will hopefully help you find the perfect Mother’s Day present. If you are a mom, you could gain some wonderful gift ideas for yourself and then subtly (or not, I find being clear and direct works best) drop a hint or two.
Before I begin with my list of gift ideas for moms, here are a few shopping tips;
Suggestion #1 – Pick a Theme
I find it a lot easier to pick a theme when selecting gifts for moms. Also, you can add a lot of inexpensive items to a gift bag or basket and it will seem like a bigger present. For example;
Suggestion #2 – Go In on a Gift with Siblings
If you have siblings, you may want to coordinate with them on a Mother’s Day gift. This can help increase your gift budget and reduce gift giving stress. Bounce ideas off each other to determine the perfect Mother’s Day present.
Suggestion #3 – Keep Your Mom In Mind
This may seem like an obvious tip but it’s not. When shopping for your mom try to keep her personality, hobbies, and likes in mind.
Some moms love gifts personalized with poems, writing, birthstones, etc. Others do not (I hate any decor with writing on it!).
You also don’t want to offend your mom with a gift. Providing a cleaning service to come in once a month and deep clean might seem like a very generous present but would it offend her? Would she assume you think her house is dirty?
Lastly, just because your mom already has something doesn’t mean it still wouldn’t make a great gift. I’m sure your mom has a cutting board but she might like a brand new, pretty cutting board that’s monogrammed.

Jewelry can be tricky but also very sweet if you get it right. Do you know if your mom prefers gold or silver jewelry? Would she actually like a necklace with all her grandkids’ birthstones or would she wear it only out of obligation?

One of my absolute favorite gifts to receive is the gift of an experience. Whether it is a gift card to a fancy restaurant, a massage, or tickets to a musical, I love having something to look forward to (and it won’t clutter up my house!).
To gift an experience most establishments can easily mail a gift card or send it via text message or e-mail.
