Easy Holiday Appetizer: Mini Caprese Skewers

white platter full of mini caprese skewers

I love to make mini caprese skewers for holiday parties. These cute appetizers are easy, fast, and don’t take up any oven space. They are actually great for parties any time of the year but the colors (red, green, and white) are especially perfect for the Christmas season. You might even want to serve the skewers in the formation of a wreath for extra holiday cheer. Next time you are in charge of a holiday appetizer consider mini caprese skewers, you won’t regret it!

a box of mini 4" skewers

Ingredients:

Mini Skewers (I use the 4″ size.)

Fresh Basil

Cherry or Grape Tomatoes

Mozzarella Pearls (I prefer the ones stored in water.)

Balsamic Glaze (You can make your own or purchase a bottle like I do.)

a bottle of Balsamic Glaze

Directions:

Step 1: Put the Ingredients on the Skewer

You can decide the order. It will definitely look better if each skewer is the same (I was experimenting).

Tips – I used grape tomatoes but I think cherry tomatoes would have looked better. The basil looked better when I tore the bigger pieces in half or quarters.

Step 2: Drizzle the Glaze

Place the skewers on a platter and drizzle with the balsamic glaze.

That’s it! I told you it was easy, enjoy.
