Magic Kingdom was very enjoyable. Once the calendar was released, I planned our Magic Kingdom day to take advantage of extended evening hours, though we didn’t stay the entire time. We walked from our resort to Magic Kingdom, then took a midday break to swim at the resort’s pool and rest. Mid-afternoon, we headed back to Magic Kingdom and stayed late, taking advantage of those extended hours.
Tip: Extended evening hours are only available to guests staying at deluxe resorts (we were at Bay Lake Towers), and they only happen on certain nights – you can look at the calendar in advance.

I would NEVER go to Magic Kingdom without Lightning Lanes. It’s not worth it.
Tip: If a ride goes down, pivot. The number of people we saw waiting in line for hours while a specific ride (Seven Dwarfs) was not even in operation was insane. Change your plan; always have a backup ready to go.
*LL means we had a Lightning Lane
*Only one of our kids was interested in meeting characters and getting their signatures. Even then, only specific characters were requested by our child. Many more characters are available at each park.
