Declutter Challenge Week 3: Books

stack of books

I love to read. I read every single day and thankfully my children love books too. That love of reading led to us having a huge excess of books. Last year, using the system below, I decluttered 103 books from our home. This year I won’t have to get rid of nearly as much. Now let’s declutter some books!

Declutter Challenge Week 2: Refrigerator and Freezer

I hope you feel very accomplished after this week’s declutter category because we are cleaning out the refrigerator and freezer. Get rid of any old food and condiments. Since I participated in this Challenge last year I barely had to get rid of anything this year which is awesome! Each year you declutter will get faster and easier.

Declutter Challenge Week 1: Bags, Purses, and Wallets

images of a variety of colorful bags and purses

Some women (and men!) are bag people. They have many different bags for different occasions. Some people are really into designer bags. Not me. I have a gray diaper backpack I use every day and a small crossbody purse I use when I am rarely out somewhere without my kids. Please note, the purse DOES fit my Kindle or I would have returned it immediately (#priorities). I like to start each year decluttering bags because, selfishly, it is an easy category for me and I think the beginning of a new year is a great time to clean out your purses.

Adult Packing Checklist and Guide for Warm Weather Trips

After I made a vacation packing checklist for kids a number of people asked if I had a checklist for adults. Now I do! The checklist is pretty all-encompassing. What I recommend is to print out a checklist every time you are packing for a trip and then cross out any items you won’t need to pack. Below, I have a lot of packing tips and describe how I go about packing for a vacation. The FREE PRINTABLE packing checklist is at the bottom of this post – just click on the picture and it will take you right to the PDF.
