Monthly reviews and recommendations about books I am reading plus movies guides on various topics.
I love to celebrate holidays with my children. St. Patrick’s Day is one of the most fun holidays to celebrate because there is no stress associated with it (no gift buying, no traveling, etc). We love to make a leprechaun trap, dress in green, and make fun mint-flavored treats. As with every holiday, we also read a lot of books. Here are some of our favorite St. Patrick’s Day children’s books.
I used to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by “running” a .5K (yes you read that right) which earned you a cup to fill up at numerous local bars. These days I set up elaborate leprechaun traps with my children and have a more laid-back celebration. If you too are celebrating at home this year might I suggest some delicious Irish food and a romantic Irish movie. Here are three of my favorite movies to watch on St. Patrick’s Day.
This year we requested a number of Valentine’s Day children’s books from our library. There were a few books I didn’t end up including on this list because the stories focused on fighting or being upset someone liked them. Instead, I wanted to feature books about love and the activities surrounding Valentine’s Day (parties, making cards, etc). I will continue to add books to this list over time that both my toddler and preschooler love and make me read over and over and over.
With Valentine’s Day fast approaching you might be brainstorming ideas for a date night with your significant other. Babysitters might be hard to find or you may prefer a casual night in. Either way, watching a romantic movie together can always be a great date night. Below I’ve listed the best romantic movies. Find a classic to enjoy again or try a new film. I hope your date night ends perfectly, just like these romance movies.
