Monthly reviews and recommendations about books I am reading plus movies guides on various topics.
In May, I had a solid month of reading with a lot of variety. I went from reading about the assassination of a president to one of the steamiest books I have read EVER. Shockingly, one of my favorite books this month was written for upper elementary kids, and it had my heart breaking repeatedly. Take a look at my book reviews and ratings from May to see what strikes your fancy.
I love to celebrate holidays with my children. St. Patrick’s Day is one of the most fun holidays to celebrate because there is no stress associated with it (no gift buying, no traveling, etc). We love to make a leprechaun trap, dress in green, and make fun mint-flavored treats. As with every holiday, we also read a lot of books. Here are some of our favorite St. Patrick’s Day children’s books.
I find myself turning to fantasy stories more and more these days as historical fiction and dystopian novels are becoming a little too close to reality for my taste. When reading I need to completely escape our current world politics to be able to enjoy myself. I hope you find some books you are excited to read in my book reviews below. Just beware, I did read some stories with heavier topics this month and you may want to check out the trigger warnings first.
