We’ve all been spending A LOT of time at home this year. If you are like me, you want a great show to watch at night for entertainment while you relax. These shows are definitely binge-worthy. I usually stay away from suspense and horror. Comedy, romance, and a little reality (only sometimes) are more my speed. I hope you find your next great binge-worthy show on this list.

Wow! I loved, loved, loved The Newsroom. The writing is wonderful, the cast superb, and I really wish there were more than three seasons.
The show takes place behind the scenes of a popular cable news program. Previously very neutral in his reporting, the lead anchor is now opinionated and asking the tough questions to better inform his audience. Major events that are reported on occur starting in 2012 (I was late to the show).
There is romance, drama, comedy, politics, etc – it’s fantastic.
Every mom needs to watch this show. The main characters are snarky, sarcastic, moms who work outside the home. Showcased are the number of challenges of being a working mom (pumping at work, sick kids, marital issues, etc) throughout the different storylines of these female friends.
I started reading Outlander but found it too weird and stopped after the first chapter. Now that I have seen the show I am kicking myself over not continuing with the novel!
A woman visiting Scotland with her husband after WWII accidentally time travels back to the year 1743 and doesn’t know how to get back. Survival means attempting to fit in and creating a backstory for herself. A man might be able to provide a solution to keeping her alive. He might provide more than that!
At times it’s very sexy and at times the show can be extremely violent. Don’t say I didn’t warn you! It’s a great series for couples to watch together.
A reality show depicting the season of a small Texas college cheerleading team leading up to the national competition. This team is known for its stellar program. Highlighted are a number of the team’s members along with their backgrounds as well as their famous coach. Injuries, stress, and a lot of work are showcased throughout the show.
I was surprised at how much I liked this reality show. The athleticism was featured just as much as the dramatics.
If you like shows such as Gilmore Girls and Hart of Dixie, you should give Sweet Magnolias a try.
It’s a cute show about three adult female friends who decide to go into business with one another in their small southern town. One is a single mother and professional chef who runs her own restaurant. Another is a single successful lawyer. The third is going through a public divorce while trying to be a good mom to her three kids.
There’s small town and family drama mixed in with teen problems and a little romance. A great show to relax to at night.
Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) told me I would love The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and they were right.
A young wealthy Jewish wife and mother suddenly finds herself divorced and needs to rethink her life. Her enormous talent for standup comedy comes out of nowhere and might provide her answer. But it is the 1950s and housewives have a hard time getting booked at comedy clubs.
Think Dirty Dancing mixed with Gilmore Girls plus a lot of laughs.
This show is very similar to Workin’ Moms but not as good. A new mom struggles with a number of aspects in her life while trying to adjust to having a baby. Her support group consisting of other moms has a variety of characters.
An Australian competition show in which teams of two compete for the best vacation rental by staying at and judging each other’s places.
It’s fun to see a wide variety of locations, decor, and activities each of the instant hotels has to offer. Two professionals also give their opinions and advice for each home.
This is one of the few shows or movies based on a book that I think it just as good as the novel if not better!
Big Little Lies is the story of a group of women in a wealthy neighborhood whose children go to the same school. When a new boy to the school is accused of physically hurting a girl on the first day lines are drawn between certain parents. Each woman has her own issues going on at home which ultimately leads to someone’s death at a school fundraising function.
Sometimes watching a teen go through the struggles of high school is just what you need to appreciate being an adult (even if you’ve had a rough day). Mindy Kaling is one of the show’s creators so I knew it was going to be good.
The main character is a nerdy Indian-American high school female desperate to get the attention of a very cute boy. She makes numerous blunders in both her love life and with her two closest friends. Her culture definitely impacts her life, as well as the recent loss of her father.
I am not usually one to watch competition shows. The dramatic music, all the talking and backstabbing, it’s exhausting. This baking competition show is the exact opposite. The contestants are low-key, kind, and the show actually focuses a lot on the food!
The Great British Baking Show is one that will just make you happy (and possibly hungry). Each episode contains three parts. Two parts the bakers are able to practice and prepare for and the third is a complete surprise with very little direction.
I hope this list of binge-worthy shows has given you a good idea of what to watch next. If you need more suggestions please check out my previous lists of must-watch shows to stream;
P.S. It’s not a series, but if you haven’t streamed Hamilton on Disney+ yet you absolutely need to!
