January 2022 Book Reviews and Recommendations

four book covers

Here’s to a new year with new book reviews and recommendations. A book I reviewed this month is one of the BEST I’ve read (listened to) in a long time. I was smiling and laughing throughout the whole thing. I hope you find a great book to start off the year right with some pleasurable reading.

Declutter Challenge Week 2: Refrigerator and Freezer

I hope you feel very accomplished after this week’s declutter category because we are cleaning out the refrigerator and freezer. Get rid of any old food and condiments. Since I participated in this Challenge last year I barely had to get rid of anything this year which is awesome! Each year you declutter will get faster and easier.

Declutter Challenge Week 1: Bags, Purses, and Wallets

Some women (and men!) are bag people. They have many different bags for different occasions. Some people are really into designer bags. Not me. I have a gray diaper backpack I use every day and a small crossbody purse I use when I am rarely out somewhere without my kids. Please note, the purse DOES fit my Kindle or I would have returned it immediately (#priorities). I like to start each year decluttering bags because, selfishly, it is an easy category for me and I think the beginning of a new year is a great time to clean out your purses.

Best Reads of 2021

Another great year of reading if I do say so myself but some books were definitely better than others. Here are the books I would consider the best reads of 2021. Each I rated either 4 or 5 stars! These are the books I read in 2021, not books necessarily published in 2021 though there are a number of new ones on this list. I hope you find your next great read after perusing. Here’s to making a must-read list for 2022!

Easy Holiday Appetizer: Mini Caprese Skewers

I love to make mini caprese skewers for holiday parties. These cute appetizers are easy, fast, and don’t take up any oven space. They are actually great for parties any time of the year but the colors (red, green, and white) are especially perfect for the Christmas season. You might even want to serve the skewers in the formation of a wreath for extra holiday cheer. Next time you are in charge of a holiday appetizer consider mini caprese skewers, you won’t regret it!
