Every year, I try to narrow down all the books I read to a top 12 list. I select the books based on feeling. I chose the books that I am still thinking about and made an impact on me, not necessarily all the books I gave a 5-star rating to. Now you’ll notice below that I have way more books than 12, but I count books in a series that I read in the same year as one book (that makes sense to me). Of the 127 books I read this past year, here are my top 12 reads of 2025 (in no particular order);

With four children, I throw a lot of birthday parties, and I’m always excited to hear what theme my kids have in mind for their upcoming celebrations. One of my middle children most recently selected Moana as her birthday party theme. Below, I’ll share our Moana decorations, party activities, favor bags, and more. I try to stay within a small budget for birthday parties and avoid creating a lot of waste.

I think this might be the most books I have ever read in a month. Certainly, the most books in a month I have ever given an “Excellent” rating to, so I hope you are able to find something that interests you! In this month’s book reviews you’ll find a few mystery and horror sprinkled in because the month of October calls for it.

September was by far the month in which I read the fewest books, even though it didn’t feel that way to me. I’m definitely getting into fall-themed reading with mysteries and books featuring witches. But as always, I try to review a variety of genres to keep it interesting. I hope you find a book review below that catches your interest.
