This was the first whirlwind Wisconsin trip of the summer and it was certainly worth the drive.
We started the weekend by grilling out with my Dad and some of his friends before meeting up with some of the Pewaukee gang. I am so happy I got to see my Grandpa whose 90th birthday I will unfortunately be missing later this summer. We also got to catch up with close friends who won’t be back in the country for awhile as they travel to Africa and South America.
Saturday I went to the Cedarburg Strawberry Festival. I finally got Mac & Cheese pizza, I have been craving it ever since I didn’t get to go to Ian’s over Christmas break. Of course, I had some delicious strawberry shortcake. We didn’t stay too long because we had weddings to go to but I saw a lot of other food vendors I would have liked to try.
I had no interest in any craft stuff whatsoever but it is interesting to see the impact Pinterest is having. Many of the crafts came straight off of Pinterest while the gullible public is thinking that these artists are “so original”.
Later in the day Alex and I attended a family wedding. We enjoyed the weather, food, and band. Alex’s family is awesome and we are so blessed to have gained such great new relatives this past year. Alex enjoyed many rounds of shots with his family which explains why he didn’t quite enjoy the 90 degree Brewer game we went to on Sunday.
Thanks to all the friends and family who made this weekend memorable. To those we didn’t get to see this trip, hopefully you are available during our August Door County vacation.
