This past week felt like summer had finally arrived after all the rain and cold weather we had the previous week. I won’t complain about the rain though since we don’t have a fire ban yet, it just isn’t summer without campfires.
I am getting into the swing of summer by sleeping past 7 am and getting items checked off my to-do list that I never got to during the school year. I’m also spending time outside reading (for pleasure!) lapping up as much sun as my vitamin D-deprived body can take.
First major task of summer = guest bedroom. This week I painted the guest bedroom and decided to do an accent wall in purple (crazy!). I’m not sure if I like it but I’ll give it a shot (mostly because I’m sick of painting) and we’ll see how it looks after we get curtains, bedding, etc. I would love to have the room completed right away but, as always, budget is holding the process up. It also feels silly to purchase items that would normally be perfect for a wedding registry but my lack of patience isn’t allowing that.
Alex brought home some flowers from work so we tore up some of the ugly rock garden out front and planted them. We are looking forward to landscaping a lot more.
We were finally able to take a summer hike this past weekend. I asked that we go somewhere we hadn’t been yet so Alex selected the Stratobowl. With perfect weather the hike was great and gradually got us back into our hiking season. The hike wasn’t too long but Benny was ready to quit half way though. The Snowbeast needs to get in shape, currently 95lbs!
Hope you are enjoying summer as much as I am!
