Things to Do in New Orleans (for cheap!)

City Park

I recently was able to tag along on my husband’s work conference trip to New Orleans.  I hadn’t been to New Orleans since I was a little girl and the only parts of that trip I remember are the beignets and feeding alligators on a swamp tour.  Going back to NOLA as an adult was great and I would go back again in a heartbeat.

Most of the trip I was by myself since Alex was at his conference so I tried to keep myself entertained without spending a ton of money.  Mission accomplished!  Here are some of my recommendations for things to do in New Orleans for very little money;

I was so lucky to be able to join my husband on his work conference trip to New Orleans.  We made the trip into a little babymoon knowing that a vacation with just the two of us probably isn’t going to happen again any time soon.

Honeymoon in Costa Rica

Beach right off the resort.

I just got back from the best honeymoon ever!  Granted, it has been the only honeymoon I have ever been on, but trust me my obsessive need to plan definitely worked in my favor for this vacation.

After considering a few options, I decided that Costa Rica was the perfect destination for our honeymoon.  I wanted a place that would have equal parts relaxation and adventure.  Costa Rica definitely meets both requirements.

If you are considering Costa Rica for your honeymoon or vacation I hope my time spent planning helps you plan your trip.

Costa Rica – Pura Vida

It has taken me awhile to write this post for a few reasons.  First, I was busy returning to work helping plan and coordinate a fashion show while simultaneously coming down with a terrible cold.  Also, I just had a hard time facing reality and the cold after the perfect honeymoon in Costa Rica.  If I ever win the lottery (which is impossible since I don’t play) we will most definitely be purchasing a vacation home in Costa Rica.

Door County

Door County, Wisconsin has been one of my favorite places in the whole world since childhood.  Door County is so special to me and my husband we even got married there!

The peninsula is very unique in the fact that there are no chains.  You won’t find a McDonald’s, Starbucks, etc. anywhere – a feature I adore and I hope this standard lasts forever.

Door Country truly is the “Cape Cod of the Midwest”.  There is so much to do in Door County for all ages and all types of vacations.

Below is just a brief list of my ultimate Door County favorites.  Trust me, there will be more Door County posts in the future because I can’t even begin to cover this little piece of paradise.
