Bridal Shower & Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties

(To the tune of “My Favorite Things”)

Baking utensils and great looking napkins

Fluffy white pillows and damask styled aprons

Red casserole pans, a dish for a ring

These are a few of my favorite things

Seriously, I (we) couldn’t have been more spoiled at my bridal shower.  Thank God we decided to get a car that has 3 rows of seating or we never would have been able to get all the presents back to South Dakota.

Around 35 women were able to attend my bridal shower at my mom’s house in West Bend.  It was a really fun time but I definitely learned to plan a lot more time for a bridal shower than you think.  I thought guests would be at the party for about two hours and then we could head straight to our hotel to get ready for the bachelorette party, I was very off in my planning.  Guests started arriving about an hour early and stayed for 4-5 hours.

My sister planned some fun games to play at the shower that weren’t too cheesy and the two moms ended up winning which was funny.  My only regret is that I didn’t get to spend enough time catching up with everyone, some people I barely got to say hello to.  Hopefully the Door County wedding weekend will give me more time to see our guests.

The best bridal party a girl could ask for!

Meanwhile, all the men attended a Brewers game from which I received numerous interesting texts.  I am not sure how much of the game the boys actually watched.

The girls and I were already pretty frazzled having left the shower late but when we got to the hotel we were told we were at the wrong location.  Later we learned that everyone ended up going to this location first because the hotel we really were assigned to was literally two blocks away and completely hidden from view.  What company has two hotels with the exact same name two blocks from one another?  Luckily, we were able to push the brewery tour back so we could relax and have some pre-party drinks at the hotel first.

The brewery tour gave out the most beer I have ever had at a tour – very impressed.  Our tour guide was also extremely sweet and helped us out in a fashion emergency.  I had managed to rip my extremely tight dress right down the back of my derrière and he provided some packing tape to close the gap.

We then headed to dinner where we met up with some other party people (including my fun aunt!).  This is where the night starts to get fuzzy for me but to summarize we eventually met up with the guys, I danced a lot, I apparently went “missing”, and Alex got a black eye.
